It's time to gird our loins and get back to the good fight. 2008 may be the year when we see things turn around - or maybe not but a paradigm shift is overdue and I'm looking forward to it.

I'm not sure how to "gird my loins". I've heard the term before. It's suggestive of perhaps girdling myself? You are asking me to toughen myself, to appear sleeker and more... rigid? It's an interesting term.
